Listed BuildingsThe main function of Council as a statutory advisor is to make recommendations on the listing or delisting of historic buildings. Council is guided by a set of listing criteria set by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency and this can be found in PPS6 which can be accessed under the Planning Service NI website Currently, Council is involved in a Second Survey of historic buildings throughout Northern Ireland. This is expected to last for another 10 - 15 years. It is also consulted about listed building consent in cases of partial and full demolition of listed buildings and building preservation notices (spot listing). A current record of listed buildings can be found on the Northerrn Ireland Environment Agency Website |
